Walking along this darkened path,
My way lit by the light of fireflies.
Alone I have been for sometime now,
Though I have always felt the warmth of Mother Earth beneath my feet.
Puddles of rainfall cover the path,
Seeping into the soil
As my toes squish along the muddied trail.
I feel the coolness of the moistened ground.
Greenery and foliage overwhelm my senses
As not a soul walks alongside me.
Though I feel comforted along this darkened path,
Never quite alone
For she has always been with me.
